Property registrations in the Kolkata Metropolitan Area in Feb increased three times over the previous month and more than 60% over the previous Feb, indicating a strong revival of home sales.
In order to provide relief in property transfers within the family, I am happy to propose a maximum stamp duty of Rs 1,000 only in case of transfer of property by way of gift within the family,” minister of state for finance Chandrima Bhattacharya said.
Developers also said introduction of a targeted scheme for affordable segment homes would propel development in areas like Joka, Sonarpur and Rajarhat.
According to RERA, real estate players had to sell flats as per carpet area. Earlier, in the state flats and houses had to be registered as per super built area.
