It follows a dramatic one-vehicle collision on the A590 at Lindale Hill. A picture shared by South Lakes Police highlighted the significant damage to the driver’s white car. Fortunately, the driver escaped uninjured, with the police stating that he was “very lucky” to do so. As a result one lane of the A590 was closed westbound following the accident. South Lakes Police tweeted: “The road is now clear, however the roads are very wet with blustery wind. “The driver of this car is very lucky and suffered no injuries.” It came as the county saw 65 per cent of its expected rainfall for the month in just 24 hours.
