Biocon Biologics to offer its Oncology Biosimilars through Cancer Access Partnership in over 30 countries

Biocon Biologics Ltd., a fully integrated pure play biosimilars company and a subsidiary of Biocon Ltd. (BSE code: 532523, NSE: BIOCON), has signed an agreement with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) to expand access to lifesaving cancer biosimilars in over 30 countries in Africa and Asia as a part of the Cancer Access Partnership (CAP). The partnership is a significant step in delivering advanced cancer therapies to patients who need them the most and ensuring equitable access to high-quality biosimilars in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
Biocon Biologics, an arm of biotechnology major Biocon, on Thursday said it has signed a pact with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) to expand access to life-saving cancer biosimilars in over 30 countries in Africa and Asia as a part of the Cancer Access Partnership. The partnershipis a significant step in delivering advanced cancer therapies to patients who need them themost and ensuring equitable access to high-quality biosimilars in low- and middle-incomecountries (LMICs), Biocon Biologics said in a statement.
Biocon Biologics willinitially supply biosimilar Trastuzumab and biosimilar Pegfilgrastim and will expand the arrangement to includeother biosimilars,it added. Biocon Biologics Executive ChairpersonKiran Mazumdar-Shaw said, The collaboration with CHAI further strengthens our resolve to address the unmet patient needs in Asia and Africa for advanced cancer therapies through cost effective alternatives to expensive reference biologics.

Perryfields High put out a letter to parents today stating that it been forced to close to all pupils because it had no hot water or heating due to a boiler tank leaking diesel. Yesterday (Monday December 14) the school sent a letter to parents stating it was closing to years eight and nine from today (Tuesday December 15) until the end of term due to the numbers of staff self-isolating. The letter from headteacher Ian Barton states: We are closely monitoring the absence of students and staff who need to self-isolate.
