you don t. it s a competitive place. if you take money away from people in new jersey they will do what they ve done in new jersey. they lost $70 billion in wealth because they got up and say i m moving to some place like texas where they won t take my money. if the united states government doesn t make us competitive for companies and the rest of the world, they re just going to continue to go to some place like singapore or china. not competitive. if you want to create jobs, you must cut taxes. second thing, this is where it gets dicey. we re not cutting spending like bridges to nowhere and turtle tunnels an earmarks, no, no, no. those have to go. we re talking dramatic spending cuts. this is something that reagan couldn t even do. you have to go back again to coolidge and harding to find the kind of reduction in government services that i think we need. not talking about freezing a tiny slice of the budget that obama just did. it sounds good in a speech but it won t get us anywhere.
