The very purpose of ‘
PMC Home Isolat ion App’, launched by the civic body to track home-quarantined patients and monitor their
health, is defeated thanks to the lackadaisical approach by the administration and lethargy shown by most of the patients by not using the app. Due to a spike in COVID-19 cases, the app was launched by Deputy Chief Minister
Ajit Pawar last month.
Since over 90 per cent of patients are in home isolation, the Android-based app was supposed to play a crucial role to curb the pandemic. It was launched not only to track a patient’s location and monitor the daily health checks but also to give early alerts about patients who need direct attention.
