Floods disrupt KTM Komuter and Intercity services

Called MyRail5, it’s for students (Standard 1 to Form 6) and OKU (Malaysians only), and it offers unlimited rides on the KTM Komuter (Klang Valley and Northern) and Shuttle Timuran (Kuala Lipis to Tumpat) for 30 days, for just five ringgit. On sale this year until December 31, one can register for the MyRail5 pass and renew it at the following 13 KTM Komuter stations: Sentul, Batu Caves, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam, Klang, Bandar Tasik Selatan, Kajang, Seremban, KL Sentral, Kepong, Sungai Buloh, Rawang and Tanjung Malim.

KTMB East Coast train service cancelled due to floods

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 6): KTM’s Intercity service, namely the Ekspres Timuran No 26 and No 27 for the Johor Bahru Sentral–Tumpat route and back as well as Shuttle Timuran have been cancelled, beginning tonight. Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) in a statement today announced the cancellation after tracks between Kuala Krai and Bukit Abu, Kelantan were flooded. “KTMB is forced to cancel our train services to ensure the safety of passengers and will announce further updates accordingly,” the statement read. Passengers affected by the service cancellation can change the date of their journey or get a full refund subject to terms and conditions.

The pass, which will be effective Jan 1, is an initiative by the government to reduce the financial burden of targeted groups who commute using KTMB’s services, the company said in a statement Saturday (Dec 26). MyRail5 s monthly travel pass is expected to benefit almost 3,000 train users a day.
