NARRAGANSETT-SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI A slow-moving system is moving into southern New England Thursday, bringing several inches of plowable snow to Rhode Island. Parking bans are in place in cities and towns across the state in anticipation of unpleasant snow conditions.
A parking ban went into effect in Narragansett at noon and lasts until further notice. No parking ban has been announced in South Kingstown.
The first flakes are expected to fall in much of the state between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., though earlier snowfall onset is expected along the southern coast. Four to six inches of slow-building accumulation are expected across the state, with the snow expected to continue overnight and throughout the day Friday.

PORTSMOUTH, RI A slow-moving system is moving into southern New England Thursday, bringing several inches of plowable snow to Rhode Island. Parking bans are in place in cities and towns across the state in anticipation of unpleasant snow conditions.
A parking ban went into effect at noon Thursday in Portsmouth and will last until 8 a.m. Saturday.
The first flakes are expected to fall in much of the state between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., though earlier snowfall onset is expected along the southern coast. Four to six inches of slow-building accumulation are expected across the state, with the snow expected to continue overnight and throughout the day Friday.
