Our Correspondent Imphal, Aug. 27 (EMN): TheGovernor of Manipur and West Bengal La Ganesan along with the state Chief Minister N Biren Singh inaugurated the 50th All Manipur Shumang Leela (courtyard play) Festival 2021-2022 in Imphal on Saturday. Addressing the inaugural function, La Ganesan said Shumang Leela started as a comic genre presented before the kings and noblemen, which ultimately developed into the present form of courtyard enacted play and the present day Shumang Leelas have been trying to focus on the issues of moral values, unity and integrity. He said that the festival has been trying to strengthen the bond of brotherhood and friendship among different communities in the state, making it the catalyst in bringing peace and harmony in society. Our Correspondent Imphal, Aug. 8 (EMN): Governor of Manipur and West Bengal La Ganesan on Monday inaugurated the golden jubilee celebration of Manipur State Kala Akademi (MSKA), He presented Akademi Awards-2020 (2018-2020) to 27 selected individuals for their outstanding contributions in the diverse fields of art and culture, tribal culture, literature and fine arts in the state. Speaking to the gathering at the auditorium of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy in Imphal, Governor said it has been a long and enriching journey of 50 years for MSKA.
