Travel site users crown Akita Pref. hot spring as Japan s most desirable for a soak

(Mainichi/Shuji Furukawa) AKITA Nyuto hot spring village in the northeast Japan prefecture of Akita has been voted the onsen hot spring resort in Japan people most wish they could visit by members of the popular travel website Jalan Net for the second year running, it was announced on Dec. 10. The resort, located in the city of Semboku, emerged victorious after Jalan Net, owned by Recruit Lifestyle Co., conducted an internet survey on 13,342 of its members between Aug. 30 and Sept. 7. The ranking, which selects onsen hot springs people haven t gone to but would like to one day, saw Nyuto hot spring village nominated by 2,516 respondents for a consecutive first place finish.
