J&K: 678 fined, 145 arrested in past 24 hours for Covid-19 lockdown violations
The Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested 145 people and collected a fine of over one lakh from 678 people in the past 24 hours for violating lockdown restrictions in the Union Territory.

In view of the record surge in daily cases across the Kashmir Valley, J&K police have enhanced their efforts to make sure Covid-19 lockdown guidelines are strictly followed throughout the valley. During the last 24 hours, J&K police has arrested 145 persons, lodged FIRs against 92 people, and have collected a fine of Rs 1,09,200 from 678 people for violating the Covid-19 guidelines imposed throughout the Kashmir valley.

DGP reviews security arrangementsÂ
Jammu Tawi, Dec 18: A day after visiting South Kashmir, Director General of Police Dilbag Singh Friday visited Kupwara, Handwara and Baramulla and reviewed the security situation in these frontier districts.
Accompanied by Deputy Inspector General of North Kashmir Sulaiman Chowdary, the DGP chaired joint review meetings at these district headquarters.
Reviewing the security arrangements put in place by different security agencies for the 8th phase of District Development Council (DDC) and by-elections for Panchayat and Urban Local Bodies (ULB), the DGP stressed for strict and elaborate security arrangements around the polling booths for peaceful conduct of final phase of polling.
