The family of Tommie McGlothen, Jr., along with family attorney James Carter of The Cochran Firm, filed a lawsuit Tuesday against Shreveport Chief of Police Ben Raymond and four of the officers involved in McGlothen s death.
The lawsuit comes after a $25 million settlement demand by the family back in October, naming the City of Shreveport, Raymond, and the four SPD officers who were indicted in the case Treona McCarter, Brian Ross, D Marea Johnson, and James LeClare.
Carter told The Times on Tuesday there was no formal response to the settlement demand which is why they moved forward with the lawsuit as promised.
