SHREVEPORT, La. - It s finally official. Amazon is constructing a multi-million dollar fulfillment center in Shreveport.Â
Gov. John Bel Edwards said Amazon is building a $200 million major robotics fulfilment center, bringing with it 1,000 direct jobs, an estimated 1,118 indirect jobs and about 800 construction jobs.Â
That s almost 3,000 jobs related to the project, which Edwards calls tremendous. Â

SHREVEPORT, La. - Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards will be in Shreveport Friday for what s being called a major economic development announcement.
It is expected to be the announcement of a new 3.5 million square foot Amazon facility in Shreveport. It s a story KTBS 3 has been working on for months.
The announcement will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the Shreveport Convention Center.

Trees are being cleared at the 135-acre site on Corporate Drive that s expected to be home to an Amazon facility.Â
Several contractors connected to Amazon are listed on documents about a site off of Corporte Drive. Crews started working on the land last week.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - An Amazon robotics fulfillment center will be built in Shreveport, Governor John Bel Edwards announced Friday, May 7 at a news conference.
Construction on the $200 million facility will start in the fall of 2021 and is expected to be complete by September of 2022. The center will bring about 800 construction jobs and 1,000 full-time jobs with benefits to the city. Starting pay for these full-time jobs is $15 per hour.
