GAYA: Four suspected Maoist commanders were killed in an encounter carried out jointly by the CRPF, COBRA and the district armed police jawans on Tuesday. Security personnel also recovered three AK-47 and one Insas rifle from the encounter site at Maunbar under the Dumaria police station area, surrounded by dense forest and hills.
“The slain Maoists have been identified as zone commander Amresh Bhokta, sub-zone commanders Shivpujan, Shreekant Bhuian and Uday Paswan,” said Nisheet Kumar, CRPF 159 battalion commandant.
Security personnel had received inputs that an armed squad of the Maoists led by their commander Amresh Bhokta was camping in Dumaria to commit violence. On Tuesday, an encounter ensued between security personnel and the Maoists.
