Level 2 water restrictions introduced in Hastings

The first water restrictions of the year have been introduced across Hastings in an attempt to help conserve supply for the summer months.
At Level 2, hoses and sprinklers can only be used between 6am and 8am, and 7pm and 9pm, every second day - at odd numbered homes on odd dates, and even numbered homes on even dates.
The restrictions apply to all homes which source water from a public Hastings District Council supply.

Covid-19 has made a mess of shipping around the world, but the new equipment for the Fiesta of Lights in Hastings arrived ahead of schedule.
The event starts at Showgrounds Hawke s Bay Tomoana on Saturday night, and organiser Te Rangi Huata said he and his team were fortunate everything arrived by ship or plane from the United States of America and China a week before deadline.

More four-legged superstars have been found across the age groups after another successful National Young Horse Jumping Championships in Hastings over the weekend.
The three-day show celebrated its 25th anniversary attracting a record 510 horses at Showgrounds Hawke s Bay Tomoana.

Kiwi band Six60 spent the weekend in Hawke s Bay discovering Hastings ahead of their January concert.
Lead singer Matiu Walters also made a surprise appearance with Drax Project at Black Barn on Saturday night.
Walters sang Drax Project s hit song Catching Feelings, which features Six60.

New Zealand s future superstars are heading to Hawke s Bay this week for the National Young Horse Jumping Championships.
The competition starts with a record 510 horses taking part in the 25th anniversary event at the Showgrounds Hawke s Bay Tomoana on Friday.
