Returning on colorful wings

After a year off because of the pandemic, the live butterfly exhibit is again spreading its wings at Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory starting Saturday.
There are only about 100 exhibits like it in the country, and the conservatory is excited for its return, says Mitch Sheppard, deputy director of community outreach.
At the heart of the conservatory s Showcase Garden is a tent where a permit from the United States Department of Agriculture allows more than 90 varieties of butterflies to be on display, though the actual number varies based on what is available from suppliers.
