A MOUNTAIN rescue team responded to a number of call outs over the weekend as Cumbrians enjoyed the Bank Holiday sunshine. Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team said they received seven call outs over Bank Holiday weekend, ranging from a woman who collapsed at How Head, to a parascender who crashed on the slopes of Harrison Stickle. A spokesman said: Big thanks to Kendal Mountain Rescue Team for taking on our fourth call out of the day on Sunday for an injured dog at Three Tarns, especially as the first call out on Monday was at a bleary eyed 5.45am. We’re also grateful to our colleagues at the Great North Air Ambulance and the coastguard helicopter crew who helped us evacuate some of our casualties over the weekend. We would encourage anyone visiting the Lakes to remember places can get very busy on nice days so please park responsibly and respect our communities.
