WEST CHESTER TWP. – Should West Chester Township pay to expand its MidPointe Library branch in an effort to provide more space for programming for community members of all ages?
That’s the question before trustees following a work session that included discussion with library officials, trustees and a representative from the Edge Teen Center.
Before it can be answered, township trustees would like to see options from an architect for an expansion of anywhere from 8,000 to 12,000 square feet of space. Along with that, they want cost estimates.
Township Administrator Larry Burks said the original drawings for the 50,000 square foot library, which opened in 2009, included space for an 8,000 to 12,000 square foot addition.
