In the fifth episode of
Survivor South Africa: Immunity Island, we saw a double elimination, as 26-year-old corporate sales executive and entrepreneur Carla Gubb and 36-year-old marketing officer Thoriso M-Africa both saw their torches snuffed.
Thoriso had felt like an outcast on her tribe from the start, but she refused to go down without a fight. With the help of Tyson Zulu’s idol parchment, she tried convincing some of her fellow tribemates that she had an idol and wasn’t afraid to use it. However, after she threw Tyson under the bus, she lost the trust of one of the handful of people on her side. In the end, the tribe called Thoriso’s bluff, sending her home.

In the fourth episode of
Survivor South Africa: Immunity Island, we saw the elimination of 29-year-old aftercare teacher Paul Cupido. Having just flipped at the previous vote along with his close ally Francois “Chappies” Chapman, Paul looked to be in a solid position on his post-swap tribe. However, his attitude around camp and at the challenges was beginning to rub some people the wrong way.
