Nationwide data on black fungus shows 8,848 confirmed cases and more than 200 deaths so far. The Centre has taken note of this, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the country needs to be as cautious as possible. Cases are currently going up in states like Delhi, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
