Damon Scott is calling for more government support BUSINESS chiefs in Clydebank have pleaded for urgent backing from government to help small firms reeling from news of the latest lockdown restrictions. The Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce, along with other similar bodies across Scotland and the UK, is calling for “extraordinary” funding help from government as all non-essential businesses face closure for at least three weeks from Boxing Day. New measures are aimed at protecting Scotland from the spread of a more easily transmissible strain of the coronavirus. Damon Scott, the Chamber’s chief executive, said: “Many of the businesses affected are in a vulnerable position and a return to Level 4 lockdown is yet another blow during one of their most important trading periods.
