American Legion Post 7 Easton is hosting a Poppy Drive by Mail in May.
To make a donation, mail it to American Legion Post, 7 P.O. Box 356, Easton, 02334.
Those who donate will be mailed a poppy in memory and remembrance of fallen and passed veterans. All funds received fund Post 7 youth programs and activities, as well as other worthy programs.
MassDOT to start Depot Street reconstruction project
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is beginning a road improvement project on Depot Street (Route 123), between Newell Circle and Washington Street (Route 138).
This project will include roadway reconstruction and widening, construction of sidewalks and the modification of the Center Street intersection with new traffic signals. The project also includes drainage upgrades, a new water main and new pavement markings and signs. A minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained on Route 123 at all times during work hours. Congratulations to Kelsey Hampton, director of volunteer services
Through Kelsey Hampton’s hard work and leadership, NSC has been recognized by the Points of Light Foundation as a Certified Service Enterprise Program for applying leading practices in organizational and volunteer management. The council joins the top 11% of nonprofits nationwide who excel at integrating volunteers and their skills into their human capital strategy to better achieve their social mission. Hampton completed over 20 hours of training and ensured the program complies with the rigorous certification standards for this national program.
Partnership with Lovin’ Spoonfuls
NSC has partnered with Lovin’ Spoonfuls, a nonprofit that rescues and distributes healthy, fresh food that would otherwise be thrown away, since 2016.
