Flintshire teen to brave the shave after mum given devastating diagnosis

A FAMILY has been blown away thanks to the ‘phenomenal response’ to their fundraiser. A fundraiser was launched by 13-year-old Lewis Sterry, from Hawarden, who has decided to brave the shave for Shooting Stars cancer unit in Wrexham. After setting the target at £300, within just three days they have already raised a staggering £3,000. The Flintshire teen decided to take part in the fundraiser after his mum, Helen Rees, was diagnosed with breast cancer a few weeks ago and is set to undergo chemotherapy. Helen told the Leader: “I’ve been treated at the Shooting Stars Unit at the Wrexham Maelor and they have been absolutely amazing.
