The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is investigating a possible road rage incident after a report of shots being fired from a car on Cahaba Valley Road.
Schools in Port Barre no longer on lockdown, suspect in custody

Lock downs at several schools in Port Barre have been lifted following a threat made by an individual on Thursday morning.
Port Barre Police say that on May 13, 2021 at around 7:45 AM Port Barre Police Department received a call from the Port Barre high school of a possible school threat. Port Barre high school, Port Barre elementary, Port Barre Headstart and Montessori schools were placed on lock down.
Law-enforcement from Louisiana State Police, Opelousas City Police, St. Landry Parish Sheriffs Office and Port Barre Police secured the schools and provided perimeter patrols.
Sulphur Student Arrested for Threatening To Shoot up School
It s unclear if authorities are still investigating, but a 17-year-old Sulphur High School student was arrested yesterday, March 4. Authorities received an emergency call for threats being made at the school. A motive or the circumstances leading up to the threat of violence are unknown at this time. The school s resource officers were on campus at the time of the incident.
According to KPLC, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Department Spokeswoman Kayla Vincent reported school officers placed a call to the Sheriff s office around 2:30pm. Vincent said the suspect was a male student, and he is accused of threatening to shoot up the school. Shortly after arriving on the scene, deputies arrested the young man. He was booked and charged with terrorizing, then transported to Calcasieu Parish Juvenile Detention Center.
