DeWine discusses variant spread, vaccination opportunities

COLUMBUS, Ohio Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted
provided the following updates on Ohio s response to the COVID-19
pandemic.
VARIANT SPREAD
Governor DeWine
announced on Thursday that more than 36 percent of Ohioans have now
received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, however, Ohio s
statewide case incidence number has reached 200 cases per 100,000 people
as compared to 144 cases per 100,000 people four weeks ago. There are
currently more than 1,300 COVID-positive patients in Ohio s hospitals. What
we re seeing in Ohio is a strong variant that is multiplying very
quickly and is more contagious than the virus we ve seen in the past,

NEWPORT NEWS Adam Isaac Deyong was born on Aug. 10, 1974, and passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021, in Newport News after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Newport News, graduating from Ferguson High School in 1992 and Florida State University in 1997.
After college, he briefly worked for Gateway Computers before joining his parents in the family business, Deyong’s Western Wear. When his parents decided to retire, Adam purchased it from them and decided to rebrand it as Deyong’s Boots. Realizing a growing need for safety boots and apparel in Hampton Roads, Adam steered the business in that direction.
