Ulema reject Domestic Violence bill as ‘attack on family system’ July 19, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The religious scholars at a seminar Sunday rejected the legislation on domestic violence as an attack on the family system of the country. “The Domestic Violence bill is a national issue and it is a direct attack on the family system of the country, which ultimately will result in break-up of society in this part of the world,” Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) naib ameer and ex-senator Prof Muhammad Ibrahim said while addressing a seminar, organised by his party here. He said the state did not have the right to interfere in internal matters of any family and called upon the people to come out on the Constitution Avenue to register a strong protest against the un-Islamic and controversial legislation.

SC rejects report on uniform curriculum Top Story April 1, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday rejected the report of the Federal Education and Professional Training Ministry on uniform curriculum and directed the education secretary to appear before the court on the next date of hearing. A three-member SC bench comprising Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi heard the case.The court rejecting the report of the ministry by terming it unsatisfactory said the issue of the curriculum was being prolonged.The court observed that no concrete steps had been taken for a uniform curriculum.The court directed the ministry to complete the work on uniform curriculum.
