Ludhiana, January 7
Students from Classes V to VIII today returned to schools in the state. While government had issued guidelines to be followed by the schools in view of the pandemic situation, it was a sorry state of affairs as no social distance was being maintained and most of the students were seen roaming around without masks.
The number of students who returned to schools today was also very low as parents were still reluctant to send the wards to schools. The headmasters, incharge were seen asking parents to fill the consent forms as prescribed by the government.
A parent outside Government High School,Haibowal Kalan said that she was still confused whether to send her daughter to attend classes or not as school was not willing to take any responsibility if anything happened to the child. Moreover, as just two months are left for-the session to get over, she would prefer to wait till the new session begins, she added.
