about what he saw and what the first step is to rebuilding. the river here went up 35 feet, a tributary to the mississippi, it s now going down and there s a lot of debris, so, we re here with the locals working through a program in which we re going to get a disaster declaration. are you getting or expect you ll get the federal help you need? what do you need? well, we re asking for expedited disaster declaration so we can access folks on contract there. much like we did in joplin. it s hard to rebuild while you have all of this stuff here. in order to get out the damaged stuff, you need to move quickly. so, we ll be working with the fema as well as the corps of engineers and our national guard to make sure we get a program to move this out of here quickly. dan simon is joining me now from eureka. this is one of the hardest hit towns in this entire disaster. tell us what you re seeing.

record high flood waters are receding in the st. louis area. this puts millions of those in the community further south on alert for flooding. missouri s governor wrapped up a tour of the damage. i spoke with him a short time ago, where he made it clear the danger continues. this is a storm that went all the way from the western side, touching the oklahoma border all the way to the illinois border and then down to arkansas and quite frankly, the water is still rising in southern missouri. so the massive nature of what we re dealing with here, concentrated significantly some of the worst damages here in the st. louis area. but it s a storm we re dealing with in the emergency management side. dan simon is joining me from eureka. this is one of the hardest hit towns, you see the debris behind dan and you understand why. tell us about what you re seeing
