Bandits have invaded Gurmana Community in Shiroro Local government area of Niger state again, killed one person and abducted 10 others.
The bandits were said to have invaded the community in broad daylight yesterday on motorcycles and were shooting sporadically to scare villagers. They moved from house to house and carted away properties.
Besides the killing and kidnapping of the people, some houses and barns of yams and other foodstuffs belonging to the villagers were also set ablaze.
A top member of the local vigilante simply called Idi Fylo narrowly escaped being killed by the bandits but had his house and other valuables set ablaze.

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has directed the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice Barr Nasara Danmalan to constitute a committee to investigate allegation of financial mismanagement against the Chairman of Shiroro Local Government.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mrs. Mary Noel Berje, made the disclosure in an interview in Minna on Friday.
She stated that Niger state Government under the leadership of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello will not fold its arms to allow the allegation against the Chairman go uninvestigated in order to unravel the true position of things and serve as deterrent to others.

No fewer than 19 people have been kidnapped by gunmen in Ogu and Tegina communities in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.
Ogu is a settlement close to Wayam about two kilometres away from Kagara, headquarters of Rafi Local Government Council of the State.
A senior aide to the Executive Chairman, Rafi Local Government who craved for anonymity in a brief interview by telephone with our reporter, on Monday, in Minna confirmed the incident.
The source, however, could not ascertain details on the attacks and had to place a telephone call to a resident in the affected community for more information.
