My name is Mark Pendergrass as a about a third of the people in the audience do because that is their name, also. They are related to me. This is the bookstore i love to come to all independent bookstore with great hearts and is also close to where the pendergrass enclave has lived for many many years. I grew up he or in atlanta. I live in vermont, now. I come back here frequently to see my mother who is right here in my father who was very much involved in my research for this book. Read most of the manuscripts and who died last year at the age of 99 and a half and i just want to dedicate this whole talk to him. He was a wonderful, wonderful, kind, generous man and i dedicate the book to him into my mother into my made, my africanamerican maid whose name was willie mae and whom i call me and i will be talking about her maybe i should talk
Minute to explain. Everyone will probably remember that mitt romney promised in 2012 that the first thing hewas going to do on his first day of in office was to defund obamacare. But maybe you dont remember what he said, the second thing he was going to do. He was going to defund both the national endowment, that was the second thing was going to do on his first day in office. These endowments are in the sights of the republicans because they would like to get rid of them. Mister chairman, this is a good amendment but the one thing thats missing is a sentence calling for increase in the funding of these endowments. We are getting less money now than when obama came into office the cause of the sequester and i dont know if its possible to add a sentence. So. Hang on. For fear of reopening other issues, i think im going to referthis to the technical side. I think your motion speaks to the issue of support. We will let the technical drafters decide on whether that can be included, okay .

American technology, and millions of American Workers to do it with. Now, what do the republicans propose . Basically, their Energy Program has two parts. The first part is to get rid of almost everything that weve done for the American Public in the last 3 years. They want to reduce or abolish the Synthetic Fuels program. They want to slash the solar energy incentives, the conservation programs, aid to mass transit, aid to elderly americans to help pay their fuel bills. They want to eliminate the 55 mile speed limit. And while they are at it, the republicans would like to gut the clean air act. They never liked it to begin with. Thats one part of their program; the other part is worse. To replace what we have built, this is what they propose to destroy the windfall profits tax and to unleash the Oil Companies and let them solve the Energy Problem for us. Thats it. That is it.
