The awards season does not stop in 2021 and now it is the turn of the most important of them all: the Oscars.
Although they will start somewhat late due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 93rd edition will feature a large number of interesting films, spectacular performances and a couple of curiosities to highlight.
The most important milestone to highlight is the fact that for the first time the category of best director will have two women nominated. Like in the recent Golden Globes, Chloé Zhao and Emerald Fennell will return to the race for another award thanks to their respective films
2021 Oscar Predictions: Best Actress [Updated March 6] Paul Sheehan
The motion picture academy has handed out Oscars for leading performances since the first ceremony in 1929. While the Best Actor prize is typically taken by a veteran, the Best Actress Oscar has tended to go to an ingenue. However, those age biases could be changing. While a whopping 32 of the 94 Best Actress champs have been in their 20s when they picked up their Oscars, the last three women to win were 60-year-old

He played everything from historical figures to ordinary guys to equally convincing effect, and, in one memorable case, brought one of the great enigmas of our time to vivid life.

Ben Mankiewicz, the late Robert Osborne, all those personalities on Turner Classic Movies know a thing or two. They can tell you the backstories, the inside baseball, on each of the films they present. You don t want to be tongue-tied when your little girl asks you, Mommy, why was Lionel Barrymore cast in It s a Wonderful Life ? Because she will. You know she will.
