CRAWFORD COUNTY, MI – Four people are facing sex crime charges after a police search of a residence earlier this year.
All four of the suspects are charged with at least one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct against a victim under 13 years old, according to a Michigan State Police news release. The charge involves penetration and carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.
In March, the MSP Houghton Lake Post executed a search warrant at a residence in Crawford County as part of an investigation into criminal sexual conduct and child sexually abusive material, police said. Troopers from the post were assisted by the MSP Emergency Support Team and MSP Computer Crimes Unit.
