john: we have happening out outnumbered what a gun fight. arthel: i think you guys would lose. arthel: new information on a labor dispute in washington state as unions and lawmakers last going for shipping jobs to other parts of the country despite receiving one of the biggest tax breaks in corporate history. dan springer live in seattle with more. the 100 year marriage between boeing and seattle seemed set for life a couple years ago in the state of washington. the biggest corporate tax break in u.s. history at $8.7 billion through the year 2014. since then boeing has moved 3500 jobs out of the state, mostly engineering jobs going to california, south carolina oklahoma and missouri. the company announced the transfer of another 2500 jobs out of washington. as you can imagine it is not sitting well with local politicians or the union.
they re saying it s shipping jobs overseas. they re saying this tax is just making it so hard to manufacture these devices they have to go, ironically to countries that have universal health care to get it done? it s completely bogus. congress s own researchers determined that. they did some research they said that does not hold any water. keep in mind they re going to sell more stuff. they re going to sell more devices. so i don t think that is going to be costing jobs at all. the congressional research services says that s not going to happen. industries use the job card all the time when they re fighting something like this. and it usually has no merit whatsoever. and in this case i don t think it does either. so what industries get hurt here? i mean have they slowed down production because of this tax? have they raised prices because of this tax? has there just been an upheaval
the american people made it clear that they don t and they have major concerns about the health care law and they don t want the federal government to shut down. house republicans and colleagues have been here all weekend ready to go to work and i wish senator reid would come to the table and have a discussion for what is right for the american people. you want a tax on medical devices spiked. get rid of that. that seems like something democrats could get their handed around. is there a talk of getting rid of obama care and keeping that in as a compromise? we ll see as we deputy in kfrps. the american device tax has a lot of bipartisan sent to get rid of. we are shipping jobs over seas and killing jobs here at home in america and making costs go up
