To encourage critical thinking skill among students and acquire better poise, speech delivery and oratory skills, the Department of English, Girls’ Section of MES Indian School, organised an intraclass debate for the students of classes 5 and 6.
The event took place on May 10, 2021, virtually. Four students from each team debated in favour and against the motion Animals Should Enjoy the Same Rights as Humans.
The participants supported their claims with statistical analysis of data. Aesha Fathima Basheer was declared the best speaker (against) and Meherin Hafis, the best speaker (for) of the debate.
The Best runner up (against) was awarded to Sheba Rebin M V, and best runner up (for) was won by Bhavya Biju. Arpitha Prasanth bagged the ‘Best Speaker Title’ of the competition. The winners and participants of the competition were awarded with E-certificates.
