UIPM secretary general Fang seeking anthem for the sport Monday, 12 April 2021
The International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM) is seeking its own anthem as evidenced by a message on the UIPM website from the organisation s secretary general Shiny Fang. Today, UIPM is calling for a real anthem, calling for those talented musicians and composers who know about our sport, who liked our sport and who’ve even been part of our sport to create an anthem that encapsulates the beauty and spirit of our movement, Fang says. The winner of the contest will be officially named as composer of the UIPM anthem, not only winning the honour but also prize and a role in the inauguration of the anthem, which will be used for UIPM from 2022.

Five top European competitors, including two former world champions, will contest one place on the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM) Athletes Committee when elections take place for the Paris 2024 cycle during the World Championships in Cairo in June.
The European category is the most competitive of the six involved, with the election for Asia, where there are just two candidates, the only other where there will be a contest.
European nominations announced by the UIPM include Britain s 30-year-old Jamie Cooke, the 2018 world champion and 2019 European champion, and 2016 world champion Valentin Belaud of France.
Also in the mix will be Ireland s 30-year-old Natalya Coyle, who is qualified to compete at what will be her third Olympics at Tokyo 2020.
