Shinhan Financial Group announced on Friday that it hosted a group-wide women s leadership conference for the fifth year straight in 2022. It said that the SHeroes Conference took place at its headquarters in central Seoul, Thursday, attracting about 100 female leaders from the banking group with the goal of promoting women s empowerment and expanding the networks of the participants.
Shinhan Financial Group said Thursday it has nominated Shinhan Bank CEO Jin Ok-dong as its next leader. Jin, 61, will be officially appointed as the new chairman for a three-year term upon confirmation by shareholders and board of directors in their respective meeting in March next year.
Shinhan Financial Group said Tuesday that it has confirmed three potential candidates for its next chairman. The candidates are current Shinhan Financial Group Chairman Cho Yong-byoung, Shinhan Bank CEO Jin Ok-dong and Shinhan Card CEO Lim Young-jin.
Shinhan Financial Group is on track to initiate internal procedures to extend the leadership of Chairman Cho Yong-byoung, whose term ends in March 2023. Last week, the group set up a chairperson recommendation committee, and its seven board members have started discussion of the next candidates for the group s top management. Shinhan is expected to confirm the shortlist for the group s next chairperson sometime around early December. After the final candidate is confirmed to lead the banking group during a regular shareholders meeting in March, the next chairperson will then take office as its next leader with a three-year tenure.
