Dimapur, Sep. 10 (EMN): Adhering to the age-old Sumi customary law and ancestral practice, Thahekhu village has installed Samson Aye as the GB of the village during a formal ceremony held at his residence on September 10. The executive secretary of the Western Sumi Baptist Churches Kuqhakulu, Rev. Dr. Phughoto Aye, read a passage from the Bible and invoked God’s blessings upon the new village chief, while Hukiye Yepthomi, Head GB of Thahekhu village, conferred the authority on him by presenting him with a red blanket in presence of village elders and church leaders, an update from Thahekhu village council stated.
