The lioness was rescued late on Friday night after wildlife trackers managed to trace her in the Vavera village in the Rajula range of Shetrunji Wildlife Division.
Forest officials said they are awaiting reports of the samples of the animal to ascertain the cause of death while adding that prima facie it seemed to have died of central nervous disorder.
