On Sunday, 162 children from nine Boys & Girls Clubs across the Emerald Coast were treated to a holiday shopping trip thanks to a donation made by local family Rusty and Brooke Skalla.
With the donation, the children were able to buy such necessities as socks and winter clothing from the Walmart in Destin, with money left over for a few fun purchases of toys and games. Because of a huge and generous gift from the Skalla Family, we are collectively able to bring some holiday happiness to 162 of our club members, Shervin Rassa, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast, said in a statement. I cannot in words describe how monumental this is for our youth and families in an ever so adverse year. Brooke and Rusty Skalla have made a huge impact on our communities and we thank them.
