The Rim Country Camera Club presented donations to two food banks at its recent December meeting, and because of the increased proceeds from calendar sales, more donations are planned.

Dudek is a fifteen year old from Lake City who was ejected from a car during an accident in November.
Right now, Ricky is in rehabilitation in Grand Rapids.
He was supposed to come home on June 10th, but because of complications he still has more therapy to complete.
Now, the Lake City community is putting together a dinner benefit to help Ricky’s family pay for medical expenses.
Before Ricky can come home, his family needs to make modifications to their home and purchase a wheelchair-accessible car.
So far, multiple Lake City businesses have donated to the benefit.
LAKE CITY — In support of the Sherry Dudek and her husband Mike, the Lake City Eagles, a nonprofit organization, and other local businesses, are putting on a benefit dinner
Only hours before, doctors had counseled her to consider her sonâs quality of life.
Ricky Atherton-Dudek, 15, was hooked up to a ventilator after suffering a traumatic brain injury when he crashed the car heâd been driving.
After the meeting with doctors in Grand Rapids on Nov. 13, Dudek returned to her sonâs ICU room and started talking with the nurse, telling funny stories about Rickyâs childhood, like the time the boy found an opossum playing dead and put it in a cooler.
Later, Dudek and her brother went back to the hotel where they were staying.
Dudek was smoking by the gazebo at midnight when she spotted it.
