While plans for the Byhalia Connection pipeline have been called off, the company behind the project still wants to stop legislation aimed at preventing future such projects, our Sam Hardiman reports.
Cory Thornton, an attorney for Plains All American Pipeline L.P., told Memphis City Council the ordinance that would have governed the crude oil pipeline and its potential impact on the Memphis Sand Aquifer was unnecessary, anti-industry and that the measure if passed, would be overturned by the courts.
