Committee for moving this to the full board, but for all the advocates in the community who worked to make this a historic landmark. I have here a statement with a number of details that i went over with the Planning Department and i wont go through that process at this time, but this is truly wonderful that weve arrived at this particular stage in this process and i know therell be a second reading next week to hopefully make this a reality. Right now, the bookstore is still not saved through the Ground Breaking legislation. The advocates are currently doing all they can to raise money to try and buy back the building. This building is more than just a bookstore, its a part of our history and a part of the fact that as African Americans continue to leave San Francisco, it reminds us that we were here, were still here and well continue to be a part of the community and by retaining a landmark status from marcus bookstore, it just really sends a message that well continue to work to do

Depressed, i combed craigslist for two weeks and found my ad. For a variety of reasons, including some unique markings from an accident i had on the bike, i assumed it was mine. I called the Police Station afterwards. I assumed id get a voicemail and in fact i got sergeant anderson. Maybe i was lucky, maybe the Police Departments incredible, as i now believe it is. I think it was a combination of both. Sergeant anderson took my call and couldnt have been more helpful. It was a saturday. He told me if i could get the San Francisco here that he would give me the resources for what was effecttively a sting operation. I couldnt believe my luck. A normal citizen like me could engage the Sf Police Department like this. I was truly amazed. Fast forward 12 hours, sting operation happened, my friend jerry jerry and i had sat at a subway with police interrogating them, trying to get answers on where other items might have been, and eventually the Police Officers raiding their house in the east b

Its the result of years of work that reflects cooperation between many different neighborhoods and our core offices to come forward with a single piece of legislation that well be introducing at next meeting. I know how big soda ads and unhealthy drinks. In december the Budget Legislative Analyst Office on the impact of these harmful drinks, we learned that sugary drinks are costing San Francisco citizens, at a minimum, 50 to 60 million a year, and thats just from diabetes and obesity costs alone. Its a big cost to our city. I also wanted to alert colleagues and the city that you may start to see a number of these ads on big boards and around different especially low income neighborhoods and i wanted to thank shape up sf coalition in San Francisco for launch this three Month Campaign called choose healthy drinks.
