Four arrested during narcotics seizure in Azle

A search warrant at an Azle residence resulted in multiple arrests and a suspected narcotics seizure by the Parker County Sheriff s Office last week.
The Parker County Special Crimes Unit conducted a search warrant May 6 at a residence in the 1300 block of Oakridge Road. SCU investigators searched the residence, surrounding property, vehicles and outbuildings, seizing three handguns, approximately 72 grams of methamphetamine, 49 (THC) cartridges, approximately two grams of cocaine, approximately one gram of (mushrooms), 13 tablets of alprazolam (Xanax), approximately 13 grams of hydroponic marijuana and more than $40,000 in U.S. currency from the home during the execution of the warrant.

The Parker County Sheriff s Office Wednesday announced the death of Reserves Patrol Capt. Gary Beavers.
Beavers was an exemplary deputy who served his fellow deputies and the citizens of Parker County for 44 years, Sheriff Russ Authier said. âHe was the instrumental leader of our reserve unit. He was respected and valued among his fellow deputies and peers. Capt. Beavers always had a smile on his face, no matter the obstacles he and his unit faced. He performed his duties cheerfully and had a gift for making others smile.  Â
Beavers began his reserve law enforcement service at the Parker County Sheriffâs Office in May 1977, before Texas mandates required a peace officerâs certification. PARKER COUNTY, Texas A fifth-grade teacher was arrested Friday after she admitted to sexually abusing a student for years, according to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office.
Misty Lorene Cato, 43, faces a second-degree charge of improper relationship between educator and student, Sheriff Russ Authier said in a news release.
Authorities said Cato taught at Springtown Intermediate School and was placed on administrative leave once school officials became aware of the allegations.
Springtown school officials said Cato was contracted as a math teacher and the victim was enrolled in the Azle school district at the time of the abuse.
