Greece Police warn about carjackings at gunpoint WHAM Staff UP NEXT
(WHAM) - Police in Greece are warning about a recent rise in the number of carjackings involving suspects with guns in recent weeks.
Most of the crimes have been happening in the evening or early night. The carjackings are not limited only to Greece, according to police. It has been an issue throughout Monroe County.
Suspects in these cases usually have two ways of targeting victims in their vehicles.
One method is to rear end their victim s car at a low speed, waiting for the driver to get out of their vehicle, then walk up to the victim at gunpoint and rob them. Officers strongly encourage people to wait in their vehicles with the doors locked and call 911 if this happens. If possible, leave the scene of the crash and head to a public place or police station for help.
