The sixth annual United Way of Morrow County Radiothon aired, commercial free, on Classic Rock WVXG 95.1-FM for nine hours on April 15 at the Village Fire Department.

Suspect in break-in apprehended

TROY TOWNSHIP The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call Jan. 25 from a resident reporting a suspected break-in to a garage.
Deputies responded to the area and were able to locate the suspects vehicle based off the eyewitness description.
Deputies executed a traffic stop where a male fled on foot from the vehicle. Deputies were able to apprehend the female inside the vehicle.
After a search with a canine, the male subject was apprehended in a wooded area, Sheriff John Hinton said.
Morrow County Deputies arrested Kyle Gay of Mount Gilead for breaking and entering. Also arrested was Marlena Osborne of Marion for complicity to breaking and entering.
Sheriff investigates suspected stabbing

CHESTER TOWNSHIP On Monday, Jan. 25, the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a suspected stabbing on Road 183.
Deputies arrived to find a man who stated that he had been stabbed by a female. The victim was treated by EMS for non-life-threatening wounds.
Sara Herbertson of Fredericktown was arrested for felonious assault and taken to the Morrow County Correctional Facility, Sheriff John Hinton said in a news release.
No other details are available at this time.

Hearts open wide for the holidays at county food pantry

MOUNT GILEAD Many Morrow County families and individuals in need will have a special meal this Christmas thanks to groups, business and individuals who have contributed to the county food pantry.
Morrow County Food Pantry co-director Teresa Shipman said that 240 hams will be included in food boxes given at the Food Pantry that is located at Entrance B in the Community Services Building.
