Sheriff Wayne Ivey and his Command Staff hosted the annual Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Awards Ceremony at the Church of Viera on Friday night. On behalf of the nearly 1,700 members of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, I would like to personally thank the family members, friends and community leaders that have taken the time to join us tonight for our Annual Awards Ceremony.
Junny is Brevard’s comfort dog and ambassador, a natural anti-stress advocate. He is also the Sheriff Wayne Ivey's shadow, a constant presence wherever he goes, be it schools, county commissioners’ meetings, parades, speaking engagements or special events. From the moment Junny arrived nine years ago as a ten-week-old pup, Sheriff Ivey knew the hound was special.
BREVARD COUNTY WAYNE IVEY: "You think you can send a nasty email to me and I won’t respond back…mess around and find out!" Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey responded to an email that said, "I hope someone after July 1st Brings a concealed weapon with no permit, background check or training to Brevard County and shoot the place up. This man is a danger to public safety and should be voted out of office by the citizens of Brevard County."
