CASTLE DALE Police say a Castle Dale man was on his way to kill his stepfather before he was stopped by the Emery County Sheriff’s Office.
Bailey Wyatt Bishop, 21, was charged Wednesday in 7th District Court with attempted murder, a first-degree felony; obstructing justice, a second-degree felony; failing to respond to an officer’s signal to stop, and two counts of assault by a prisoner, third-degree felonies; spitting at an officer, a class A misdemeanor; drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, both class B misdemeanors.
On Saturday, emergency dispatchers received a call that Bishop was on his way from Salina to kill his stepfather and was armed with a handgun, according to a police affidavit. His car was spotted on state Route 10 by Emery County Sheriff Greg Funk who attempted to pull Bishop over.
