Voters in Kandiyohi County elected Eric Tollefson to be the next county sheriff by a wide margin. Unofficial results show Tollefson received nearly 69% of the vote.
The two candidates for Kandiyohi County sheriff described different leadership styles during a recent voters' forum in front of the League of Women Voters of the Willmar area. Incumbent Sheriff Eric Holien and challenger Eric Tollefson, a deputy sheriff who serves as patrol sergeant, agree on what many of the major issues are but would take different approaches to addressing them.
