The Sheridan County Commission will have their first meeting of march on Tuesday and will consider a grant application, contracts, and acceptance of a right-of-way, among a handful of other issues.
A grant application for Federal assistance under the Airport Coronavirus Response Grant Program will be considered, as will be two contracts with the Wyoming Department of Health.
Acceptance of a right-of-way on Gulch Road is also on the agenda.
The commission will ratify the findings and their recent decision concerning the application for the proposed Sheridan Solar project; and will ratify a catering permit for the Big Horn Equestrian Center for the Sheridan College Rodeo Banquet on April 10

Tuesday’s Sheridan County Commission meeting was moved to the Exhibit Hall at the fairgrounds to accommodate those interested in discussing and offering public comment on the application for a permit for the proposed Sheridan Solar project.
The project, if approved by the county, would construct a 96-acre 20-megawatt commercial solar energy facility on a 163-acre parcel owned by Cameron Forbes off of Swaim Road between Sheridan and Big Horn.
More than a dozen people spoke during the public hearing, opposed to the project based on location on the property, water quality issues, what were called inaccuracies in the application, and various other issues.
Sheridan County’s Commissioners will have their second meeting of January in the Exhibit Hall at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds.
According to a release from the commissioners’ office, there has been overwhelming interest in Item CSEF-20-001: Sheridan Solar, the meeting has changed venue to allow social distancing to accommodate the number of those wishing to attend.
Also on the agenda for the meeting is consideration of an amendment to the agreement between the county and WYDOT concerning participation in the Commercial Air Service Improvement Plan; consider a contract between the county and the Flying Cowboys; consider an appointment for an unexpired term to the County Parks and Recreation Board; and consider a setback variance.
