With heavy rain arriving and local flooding looking likely, Carson City Public Works crews were out in full force Sunday morning clearing streets of debris and slushy snow piling around drainages.
With the potential for flooding due to an incoming warm atmospheric river storm system, the National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Flood Watch from Thursday afternoon through Sunday morning for Carson City and surrounding counties.
Following a quick hitting storm Thursday, another warm atmospheric river will push into the Carson City region and western Nevada beginning early Friday, bringing heavy amounts of rain, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a Flood Watch for the region.
Heavy rain with elevated snow levels are expected to renew the risk of flooding Tuesday morning through Wednesday, mostly in areas below 7,000 feet, according to the National Weather Service in Reno, which has issued a Flood Watch from late Monday night through Thursday evening.
