SEEDA appointment stirs controversy – Sheridan Media

(Photo from Sheridan Media files) Appointment of a city representative to the Sheridan Economic and Educational Development Authority drew protest from a county resident Tuesday, and board member Erin Kilbride resigned for an unrelated reason. Appointment of Patrick Henderson as a city of Sheridan representative to the board sparked protest from Vicki Taylor of Banner, who argued his appointment wasn’t appropriate. Neither Henderson nor any other member of the SEEDA board responded to Taylor, and Henderson was later elected secretary of the SEEDA joint powers board, replacing Rich Bridger. Bridger resigned the secretary’s post to accept election to vice chairman of the board.

Wendtland new president of college board – Sheridan Media

Deb Wendtland has been elected president of the Northern Wyoming Community College District for the coming year. Action took place during the trustees’ meeting Tuesday night. Hayden Heaphy, who’s attorney for the board, presided over the election of officers and explained the procedure. Gary Koltiska was elected vice president of the board, Norleen Healy secretary and Shelley Kinnison treasurer. All were the only ones nominated for the positions and were elected unanimously. Following the elections, Wentland in her first official duty as board president appointed new members to three boards in which the college district is involved. Bob Leibrich and new trustee Tracy Swanson were named to the Board of Cooperative Higher Education Services – BOCHES.

Second pump approved for Weatherby for groundwater – Sheridan Media

SEEDA has approved a second pump for Weatherby for groundwater control. (Photo from Sheridan Media files) Members of the Sheridan Economic and Educational Development Authority – SEEDA – have approved adding a second pump and added generator capacity for groundwater control at the Weatherby facility in Sheridan’s High-Tech Business Park. Kent Anderson, who’s manager for the project, said a dry well has been installed at Weatherby with connection to an existing storm sewer but the sump pump hasn’t yet been installed. With the dewatering, Anderson said, there is still 6 feet of water in the pit. He said the design team for the project has recommended a second pump.
